On 12/05/2021, Microsoft rolled out an update for Outlook which has inadvertently caused emails not to show any message content. Please follow the below instructions to roll back the update until Microsoft roll out a permanent fix.

Office response from Microsoft as at 8:24am

Current status: We’ve identified the underlying cause of impact and are applying a fix. This fix will reach all affected users incrementally over the course of the next four-to-five hours. Once users receive the fix, they will need to restart their email client to apply the fix. In some circumstances, users may need to restart their client a second time for the changes to take effect. We expect to complete this process and restore service for all affected users by May 12, 2021, at 3:00 AM UTC.

Close all office applications

Open the Command Prompt by clicking on the Search field in your taskbar. This is usually labelled with a magnifying glass.

Copy this line into the black Command Prompt window once it opens and press enter

cd "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun"

After the above, copy this line into the Command Prompt window and hit enter.

OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462

If there were no errors, you can close the Command Prompt window.

Lastly, until a fix is rolled out, you should disable Office Updates by clicking on the Update Options in the Accounts Options.
Note: Do not leave updates disabled. Re-enable the updates once the Microsoft fix has been implemented so that you receive
all security updates.
